Langley BC is home of the beautiful and authentic Fort Langley. But this isn’t the only family-friendly activity for tourists in this attractive BC destination. From great indoor activities like go-karting, laser tag, and great movie theaters, to outdoor fun like the Greater Vancouver Zoo, scenic food and wine tours, and seven golf courses, to the bustling festivals year round, you are sure to find something for everyone to enjoy on a weekend trip to Langley.

The Birthplace of BC and Beyond

In 1858, Fort Langley, situated on the Fraser River, was declared a Crown Colony by Queen Victoria. Now, Fort Langley is a bustling historical tourist site. You and your family can see and touch authentic beaver pelts, pan for gold, as they did in the Gold Rush, and enjoy photo opportunities with knowledgeable staff in authentic period costumes. Book a family or group tour, or, for a truly unique experience, book a tent for a one-of-a-kind camping experience the whole family will enjoy! Don’t forget to swing by the gift shop for hand-crafted souvenirs and traditional treats! There are also plenty of antique stores, specialty food stores, and galleries for the discerning historian.

Beyond Fort Langley, you’ll find the Langley Centennial Museum, featuring rotating local art exhibitions, and the BC Farm & Agricultural Machinery Museum. Learn about the history of farming in the area, and take a look at our collection of vintage farm equipment, including a working sawmill.

Speaking of wildlife, if your tastes run more toward the exotic, be sure to check out the Greater Vancouver Zoo.

Established in 1970, it features 135 species of wildlife. Take a tour yourself and enjoy educational guides, our beautiful viewing spaces, even a safari bus tour! To embrace the wildlife, book a trip to the Mountain View Conservation and Breeding Centre.

Langley is also well known for its golfing, both indoor and out. There are seven golf courses in the area, including one right in Fort Langley, a full 18-hole course complete with pot bunkers and several water hazards. There’s even an indoor course for when the weather gets chilly, the Golf Square Golf and Clubhouse, which uses state of the art Golfzon 3D Simulators to play some of the most famous golf courses in the world!
